Hello and welcome to the Beauty of Scotland. My name is Jim McGeachan, the photographer behind the website. I am a professional landscape photographer from East Kilbride who loves nothing more than exploring and photographing Scotland’s spectacular landscape.
The best aspect of photographing Scotland is as the saying goes “four seasons in one day.” The good old Scottish weather definitely keeps you on your toes, where dull and drab can be replaced by spectacular light and breathtaking skies in the flick of a switch – this massively compliments the spectacular landscape, a photographers dream (if yer no droont!)
Favourite Location: For me its Rannoch Moor and Glencoe. There is just something magical about this landscape where a vast expanse of wilderness meets the surrounding mountain ranges.
Camera Gear: Mostly consists of Canon professional cameras and lenses plus an array of filters and polarizers. I also use Nikon and Ricoh cameras for certain shots.
My Must Have: Good walking boots, clothing for all conditions, strong black coffee in a flask and good music on the mp3 player – oh, and lots of patience 🙂
